I've long heard about how players and the team work hard to match the 'to the plate' music with the player but I am so out of the music loop it's all lost on me.

Until last night... it was the first time I ever recognized a piece of music they used for the 'to the plate'!!

I saw in USS Mariner that it was definitely Griffey who set this up. I just love the idea that there were three groups of people in the stands: the ones going "huh?", the ones who were snickering (or guffawing), and the ones who had the light go on two innings later.

I knew it! It just had Griffey written all over it. And the announcers said NOTHING. They didn't even acknowledge it. I was cracking up. It was still one of the funniest baseball things I've ever heard.
