I was worried, when my Lifebook died, how living without a touch screen would be. I don't want to fuck with a mouse while computing in bed and I'd never been a touch pad fan. Until now.
Having to use it made me learn how to use it and I am already hooked. I don't need no stinkin' touch screen! And, what's even better, is that I'm already so hooked, I studied up on the touch pad for my 3(?) year old Toshiba (work) laptop and while different, I think I can learn to love it, too! I can be mouse-free!!! Wild.

When someone sends an email to the wrong email address and you get it instead of the intended recipient, AND you are kind enough to let them know, isn't a 'thank you' in order? A rude 'oh must have the wrong address' reply is not needed (can you say redundant?) and annoying. Every time I am kind enough to let someone know they have used the wrong address, I get crap back - everything except a thank you and I vow to never reply to one of these idiots again - let them think that their cheery note about their wonderful vacations or questions about who's going to meet whom next Thursday just got ignored! But, I get suckered in again. And pissed.

Here's a shopping tip that saves me bundles of $$. Do not sign up for Amazon's super shipping subscription. You know the one that costs $80 a year? I'm tempted from time to time and was again today until I stopped... I normally keep a little 'shopping list' in my Amazon shopping cart. As I want little things, I put them in the cart until I have $25 worth. Usually this takes a week or a few weeks and by the time I add item #2 or 3, item #1 does not seem that important any more. Etc. Today I ordered 3 things. Total of $35. Yeah, it would be fun to have them Wednesday, but I can wait.
I'm not sure how long this good sense will last so I thought I'd document now. Next time I find something I want fast or something that costs $22 and I want it soon, I'll probably pay the $80. Sigh.

We have a quiet morning here. Travis played a rousing and lengthy game of fetch and then took a nap and now is crawling all over my arms and the keyboard. Betty's having some beauty sleep. I plan to clean the kitchen and do a load of laundry and knit and watch some movies or watch something.

I'm wearing a long sleeved shirt today. As one of my twitter followees just noted: September in Seattle = Instant autumn. It's so true and it's so wonderful. It's supposed to get warmer this week but I'm just going to enjoy today and not worry about later.

Date: 2009-09-08 04:57 am (UTC)But you do remind me of my first isp account susan@eskimo.com - when they got flakey and I needed a back up, I called around several local isp's and went with the first one that had a userid of susan available. Ahhh the old days...
