I listened to President Obama intently. I was so impressed and so delighted by what he said and how clearly and distinctly he outlined his points.

During the Bush years (all Bush years) I could not change the channel fast enough whenever one of them came into the picture. There were times when I had to listen to at least part of what they said and I was always the very opposite of impressed.

I know there are many people who feel about Obama, the way I felt about the Bushes. I thought the Bush presidents - especially the younger - were stupid and dangerous and embarrassing.

I'm guessing a lot of those people just didn't listen to Obama tonight or listened with the kind of closed mind I used when their beloved Bushes spoke.

I wish it were not so but I'm guessing that it is.

Actually I liked Bush the First, I just thought he was out of touch with Joe Average American, not a threat to the freedom of Joe Average American like his son was.
