Ok, I am home for the weekend and my list of things todo is getting out of hand!

- check out potential new journal format
- take garbage down
- take photos and get ebay entries started for phone and IPAQ
- clean up kitchen
- clean up bedroom
- vacuum
- do performance appraisal
- pay bills
- find power monitor utility for Treo

That should keep me busy for a while in addition to the regular baseball games, the knitting, the reading... My brother is on his way to Mom's for the weekend for mother's day so she'll be otherwise occupied until Sunday.

My new Treo is just amazing. I am so very impressed with the Palm OS. It's so smart and so simple and so intuitive. And the tools that came with my Treo are as well. If I had the years I spent screwing around with Windows CE and PocketPC back, I'd probably be something like 45 now instead of 54.

3760 with pocketpc upgrade and a bunch of accessories that only a fool would buy including a gizmo and software that turns it into a universal remote control... 1 serial, 3 usb sync cables, fancy leather case, thumb keyboard, compact flash extension sleeve with battery and wireless card. $250 and all of it is yours... save me from ebay!

eek ... even with all the goodies attached my dollars are short at the moment. sorry :(

No worries... this IPAQ is got way more stuff than any serious user should have to mess with. And, after 2 days with Palm OS, I don't know why anyone would use anything else.

I'm glad to see that the new journal format came top of the list, with vacuuming somewhere near the bottom. I usually place vacuuming number 37 on my list, right underneath "learning portuguese" ;)

This is a sad but very true story. In the early 80's my house was burglarized. However I did not discover that the thieves had taken the vacuum cleaner until several weeks after the insurance people had settled our claim!

How weird. When my house was burglarized six years ago, we didn't realize they'd taken the vacuum cleaner until after we'd gotten our settlement, too. I was just relieved that whenever I'd confess that to people, not a one ever picked up on the fact we hadn't vacuumed. They were just amazed that burglars took the darned thing. Whew.

You have better friends than I did. The rest of the story is that I was married at the time to a very uptight older gentleman who was humiliated. He would not, nor would he let me contact the insurance company to see if we could amend the claim. I just re-read that and need to be a little more truthful. He was a dickhead.

But, yes, why in hell would they take a vacuum cleaner???!!!

It's very clear that I need to make sure you and my mother never get together under any circumstances. I've spent years carefully setting her expectations. I can tell you would ruin all those years of work in a heartbeat.

I think if the vacumn cleaner ever got nicked, Jim would fall on the floor as he wailed away. He NAMED our vacumn Big Bertha. He vacumns once/twice per day! We don't call him Felix Unger for nothing.
