When Twitter is good
Oct. 5th, 2009 10:37 amIn between hitting refresh on the UPS website, I posted to Twitter that I wanted an app for tracking my UPS driver.
Very shortly thereafter, the following popped up in my Twitter reply window:
From MikeatUPS
@susandennis We're trying to make our delivery times more specific. Could you help us w/a short survey? http://bit.ly/zqPvV Thx if you can!
Perfect! Nicely worded - no pressure, no intrusion, no unrealistic assumptions... Plus, heck, clearly I have time for a survey while I wait for the delivery! So I get a diversion and Mike gets a survey recipient. And a peek at his twitter page shows he does this over and over again but it does not feel like a bot is behind it.
I'm very impressed and delighted.
