May. 11th, 2003 09:43 amI think I need a stronger contact lens. 1800Contacts who lets me order off of my perscription long after it expires, won't let me order the next stronger version of my lens. Those poop heads. I guess I'll wait until I run out of these and then go get a new perscription. I am not going back to the place where I got these. I'm thinking Sears Optical this time or Costco.

I took a good look at my monthly bills last night as I was paying them for this month. For some reason, it dawned on me that if I paid them with Discover, I could get cash back. Duh. Only the Sprint bill and the cable bill allow this. The electric company has luddite billing operations and Qwest offers automatic deductions from checking but not from credit cards. I already have my checking account set up to automagically pay the mortgage and the home owners dues - they are static amounts. I think I'll leave Qwest and the electric bill for now.

We are having a big terrorist disaster drill here in Seattle tomorrow... well, starting tomorrow. And it starts about a mile south of here.

Next weekend they are going to close my interstate ramp. About two blocks from here there is this handy ramp that leads to a north/south interstate highway and another one that goes east (west is the water). They are killing it. Easy access is no longer mine. Sigh. They are building a new one - it won't be as good or as handy and it won't be open until October. The fuckchops. But, you gotta love that they have their own website.

Today I need to gather up all the good LJ comments about NYC and send them to my friend, Mike. Otherwise, just the usual... baseball game, Tivo backlog, get ready for Monday.

Date: 2003-05-11 12:23 pm (UTC)My credit union has this aggregate function. I can log on there, click a button and get the totals for my three credit cards (Discover, Visa and AmEx). Every Friday, I do this and then transfer the funds so that each is paid off every week. It's anal and crafty accounting for profit would have me keep the money in a money market and float the balance until it is due, but that makes me crazy. This method keeps me safe and sane.
