Every breath I take
Oct. 22nd, 2009 11:46 amI have been very aware of my breathing lately. Not in a yoga-seed-of-life kind of way but more of a omgod-I-inherited-my-Mom's-COPD way. Not that comforting, actually.

I have a Windows7 on order. I have not decided which machine to put it on yet. The main desktop (currently running the RC version) will have to be upgraded at some point but the little XP netbook is what really needs it. The laptop will get the free Acer upgrade and I may leave the Vista machine a Vista machine. Work will upgrade the work machine.

Travis is playing with a fly. And that fly is really fucking with him. It's pretty funny.

I'm going to have glass for dinner tonight or tomorrow. I was pulling something out of the freezer and in the process knocked a glass container to the floor where it broke. It held pork tenderloin. I know I got all the big glass pieces off the food and I hope I got the small ones. It is sooooo delicious that I will not toss it. I will eat it and if I die, please know that my last meal was wonderful.

You know those geeky people who are socially challenged? The ones who stand off at a party looking awkward. Who when they do try to chat, fail pretty miserably by saying the wrong things the wrong ways? Well, that was me yesterday. It was a simple thank-you get together over beer. I knew less than 1% of the attendees and didn't really have any chat fodder for those, much less for the others. It was a huge fail. I can be quite delightful socially but apparently not all the time or maybe not any more.
---
I discovered that one of the Seattle Mens Chorus Christmas concerts is going to be on the Sunday night that my brother and his wife are here visiting. So I got us tickets. It's at the concert hall that's within walking distance. I'm so glad I thought of it. It will be a very fun thing for us to do together.

Date: 2009-10-22 09:02 pm (UTC)Back in the 1970s, I had one of those high-intensity lamps as my bedside reading lamp, which cast really sharp shadows. I had great fun one night watching my cat try to capture the shadow of a mosquito on the wall.
