new puppies
Oct. 26th, 2009 03:50 pmThe neighbors across the hall from Ann and Ron - the ones who will now never have to know about my Recent Stupidness - have a 10 week old puppy. It's a tiny little white fluffy thing that is very nearly terminally cute. She was carrying the puppy out for a walk when I came in and I got a face full of really fun puppy kisses.
Just now, on Front Door TV Network, I saw them coming back in. The puppy was on the ground now on the leash and had zero interest. I mean zero interest in coming inside. It was hilarious to watch. I wish I'd hit the record button.
In moments when my common sense is parked elsewhere, I really want a small dog. If
machupicchu lived closer we would adopt, I know it, and share custody. There are enough dogs in this building that I keep thinking I'm going to hook up with their parents and offer to dog walk. I actually have offered to baby sit Lucky for Tija and Sandy but I don't think they would trust her to anyone.
This new puppy is just too cute for words.

It would be so awesome if we could do joint custody of a dog! And hey -- the carbon footprint would be half of what it would be if we both got one, right?
Unfortunately, it's fairly unlikely that we'll ever live close enough to each other to make it work. Or, if that ever happens, by the time I move closer to where you are, you'll probably be dead. Dammit!
