2.5 more days to go
May. 18th, 2003 09:14 pmMore Tivo lessons today. I think she's getting it. At least she's not afraid of it. And that's a big one. Oh I was trying to explain the thumbs up and thumbs down buttons that help Tivo understand likes and dislikes when all of a sudden the light bulb went off and she shrieked 'that's just like Amazon!!!' Jeff Bezos would be so proud.
When it takes 45 minutes from the 'ok, I'm ready to go now' to the actual opening of the front door, you know we're not moving like snail darters here... nope, the rhythm around here is more like the snails. It makes me nuts. There's a Wallmart down the road about a half mile and that is my savior. Since I don't have one anywhere near me in Seattle, I enjoy just wandering around this one. I only feel comfortable leaving for 30 minute spurts about once a day so I'm covering Wallmart in sections. I only really have Monday and Tuesday left to finish up. Pretty stressful.
Tomorrow morning is hearing aid fix. I'm going to miss muttering under my breath.
Tuesday is doctor appointment. Wednesday is residents meeting and then airplane. The pace sounds frenetic, I know. But, I cope.
On a personal note, I am so delighted that I mentioned the whole bling bling thing. I had no idea that so many of you were in the bling bling dark. Good thing you have me or anonymous will find you and tell you that you are too old for LJ.
And, sure,
kjazz, you can be my mother. I need a third of the estate to start and
ruralrob will probably want a piece of the action... It gets complicated really fast.

Date: 2003-05-18 09:06 pm (UTC)So you've discovered the joys of Wally-Mart. Its kinda fun, isnt it? M and I definitely have a kind of love-hate relationship with the store: we complain about it all the time, but are drawn back to it like moths to a flame.
