And now, the long distance Mom watch

So this morning I had one message from Mom that she wrote when she got up in the middle of the night to see if there was any news from me. Then it was like 11:30 her time and no news. I PCAnywhere'd to her computer and it was obvious that she hadn't touched it in a lot of hours.

Of course, I had her dead on the floor in the bedroom or living room or somewhere. But, dead for sure. I even went so far as thinking about next steps and how I was going to get back there on Memorial Day weekend and if I even needed to since with her gone there is no one else there and I can get a lot done by phone, etc. etc. In other words, I was just before picking out hymns for the memorial service when I got an email from her.

She had been to get her hair done. Her hair person is hard to get to and a long way and she got it dyed, cut and foiled. And she collected a lot of hair person gossip that she reported. So, I'm going to swap out When the Roll is Called Up Yonder for For the Beauty of the Earth Mother. Shesh.

Nice to see you safely back home. Hmmm...wonder if a webcam or two in your Mom's apartment would be beneficial?
Just think how good it was to have you there and for her doctor to be able to speak to you.

You know, I gave a Mom web cam some serious thought. But I couldn't figure out how to easily and cheaply get one or more than one in the places I needed it.

And you are right. I was so lucky to have been there when I was. I am grateful.

Although I know this is serious subject matter at the core...I found myself LOL as I was reading...so witty, and it's so me as well! I'm lucky in that my sister lives at home as well as my brother (long story...).
The Mom-cam might be just the answer...!
