Oh Canada!

All of a sudden this afternoon I hear Oh Canada coming in from outside... I went out to look and discovered that the stadium across the street had its doors open. I checked the website for the local soccer team and sure enough, they are playing Vancouver this evening. They really gave Oh Canada a lot of practice. I've always thought it was a snappy tune, so I didn't mind but it is a hard one, now, to get out of my head.

The Mariners are playing on ESPN tonight which is ever so dicey. Put them on national TV and they usually lose. I'd rather keep them to myself and have them win. Thanks.

Today I have done precious little and it's been pretty much fun. Knitting and TV and futzing. My best skill groups.

As they did, alas. It was a pretty good game, though, including the usual spectacular defense from these guys. And I know Jon Miller annoys you (probably about as much as Joe Morgan annoys me), but I found his imitation of a golf announcer amusing.

Actually they both annoy me lots normally but yesterday they were not nearly as obnoxious as usual. The golf bit was pretty funny. However, by the end of the game, I was getting a little tired of the Joe/Ichiro thing. I was wishing they would just get a room...

The Mariners are dark today but you have a bit of a game planned, eh? I will be a temporary Red Sox fan today. Mind you, it's very temporary. But, fingers crossed. I'd love to see your guys make Yankettes out of the pinstripes.

For some reason the Yankees have been unable to win at home lately; let's hope it stays that way. The most irritating thing has been the huge number of column-inches the Globe has been devoting to the whole topic of Clemens' 300th win.

Then again, they stand a good chance of being rained out today.

I have had the tune of Oh Canada in my head all day as well - but the words were the ones my friend and I made up 20 YEARS ago to learn the physics formulas:
Frank Marries Ann (f=ma)
Fat girls make garbage (f/g=m/g ?)
From my mother's dungeon
Frank killed sally

I don't think I ever really understood what to do with the formulas.
