From South Carolina
May. 26th, 2002 10:09 pmGood day here - sure nothing like Seattle weatherwise but not too hot either. I did manage to get Mom's computer upgraded to Windows2000 and IE6 and got everything working. I wanted to get it done early in the visit so she could play with it and ask any questions while I'm here instead of while I'm on PCAnywhere (which I might add was tricky to get going again... note to self: if ever again upgrading from Win98 to Win2000, uninstall all Symantec programs first.)
Mom has a 13 year old granddaughter (one of my sister's kids) who has just gotten her first Hotmail account. Her notes to Mom are full of colors and wild fonts and lots and lots of smiley faces. Mom wants to play, too. So I just downloaded a bunch of different smiley faces and email-appropriate graphics. Tomorrow, we'll have the lesson.
