I'm going. This morning. First I'm going to deliver the creatures and then I'm going to head down to Renton to Ikea. I want two of the napkin holders (they are perfect for holding up stuff - like my netbook) and two of their circular bathroom rugs. That is all I want but those things have been on my list since forever so today I'm going to go get it done.

Today is my Mom's birthday! I guess when you die, your birthday doesn't count any more. Oh well, she was never over the top about it anyway. She died 5 years ago next month at age 82. HBD, anyway, Mom.

This eye thing is wild. I am not even using the readers to write this.

I did not watch the Grammy's last night on TV but pretty much kept caught up on the highlights via Twitter. Pink was amazing and wet. Black Eyed Peas did ok, ditto with Lady Gaga. Taylor Swift, what's up with that? Beyoncé... was well, Beyoncé... I think I got the gist - enough gist for me anyway.

---

Ok, I'm gathering my stuff for today's road trip. Back later!

It's okay. Someone else was kind enough to get me a Tims (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Hortons) so at least I did not go caffeineless.

Birthdays totally still count after people die, except that they're not as good an excuse for cake. My grandfather would have been 95 on Friday, I need to remember to call my grandmother this week.

My dad and one of my big brothers are gone, and I always call my mom on their birthdays. For her it's still a very big thing and I respect that.

Holy Jesus Christ. Five years? I have so many memories of you writing about dealing with your mom from 3,000 miles away -- I can even still remember your ThankYouJesuses! I'm stunned that it's been five years.
