Different Day...

Since last Fall when my workload dropped to slow, it has increasingly moved now to slower than slow. Today it hit stop. I've had days, recently, when I had an hour's worth of work or maybe two. Today I have had none. Not one single minute. No emails, no bugs, no nuthin. As I am paid by the hour, this is not that good.

If my income tax bill is steep, things could get uncomfortable. I'm still, happily, a long way from having to get a real job but still. FYI, Stock Market - if you could just get moving on up again, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

So, I've filled the day with whatever. Nadia came over to deliver a form I will need to send in when I write the applicant letter she's asked me to do. She'd never seen my condo before so she saw all of the nooks and crannies and then played with the cats. She had on a black top and black pants and by the time she left, she had enough cat hair on her to make a third cat.

Then I watched an episode and a half of Big Love on tvgorge.com. I love that show.

Oh my lord, I just heard a beep from my work computer that says there is a bug there for me!! It will not be a zero day after all! Hi Ho, Hi Ho... it's off to work...

You just need to start doing crappier work so you can fix more bugs!

Naaaahhhhh. I've been through periods where it has been tempting to try to generate some makework, but I just couldn't do it. Call it professional pride or whatever, but I just can't release bad code.

My bugs generally are fixes to code that other people screwed up. So I'm loving idiots these days :)
