This was delicious. I didn't bother making a bloody mary - too much trouble but this was well worth the trouble.

i've never understood why getting the potatoes crispy is apparently so difficult. where i work they have the other problem--they have "steak fries" that are never done all the way through. why are potatoes such a mystery?!?

You can keep a bottle of Spicy V8 and a bottle of vodka in the pantry for emergencies. That gets you most of the way to a Bloody Mary without all the "trouble." :-)

How did you poach those eggs so perfectly? Do you have some kind of special thing you poach them in?

Also: what is "perfect"ly poached for you, anyway? I do like my yolk runny.

I've totally got to get me some of those! I love poached eggs but I never use pods and so I always lose a bunch of egg white when it gets all flaky and floats away in the boiling water.
