i've never understood why getting the potatoes crispy is apparently so difficult. where i work they have the other problem--they have "steak fries" that are never done all the way through. why are potatoes such a mystery?!?
You are sooo too late! It's Costco's finest - precooked. I pull it out of the freezer - slice by slice and pop it into the microwave. The trick for crispy (which I really like) is to let it sit for a while after it's nuked. This morning's was just perfect. Next time, I'll nuke enough for you, too.
You can keep a bottle of Spicy V8 and a bottle of vodka in the pantry for emergencies. That gets you most of the way to a Bloody Mary without all the "trouble." :-)
Oh I have all of the ingredients... I'm just too lazy. Plus, part of the charm of a bloody mary for me is that someone (not me) went to the trouble of mixing it all up for me!
. . I've totally got to get me some of those! I love poached eggs but I never use pods and so I always lose a bunch of egg white when it gets all flaky and floats away in the boiling water. . .
Yes. They are miracles. My brother makes wonderful hollandaise sauce but always had trouble with his poached eggs until I sent him some of these - now he's the king of eggs benedict.
One note. My first try using them was a totally fail. Then I read the instructions. Been dirt simple to do perfectly ever since.
are those eggs on top?

How did you poach those eggs so perfectly? Do you have some kind of special thing you poach them in?
Also: what is "perfect"ly poached for you, anyway? I do like my yolk runny.
