This variegated yarn is the softest in the world to knit with. I'm only lukewarm on the look but for knitting and touch, it is heaven.

When you are dealing with cheap, acrylic yarns, the feel can vary widely by color. See that pink just above the bear's waste? and the soft mint green in the top right hand corner? They are exactly the same brand, model, make, etc. Just different colors. The pink, however, is way softer than the green. Interesting, eh? Well, it is to a knitter and to a bear hugger.

It's the dyes and the way they interact with the acrylic. I used to think the darker colors were stiffer, especially in cheaper yarns, but there are some lighter colors that seem to be stiffer - greens come to mind.
