Bloggety Blog, Blog, Blog
Feb. 22nd, 2010 10:46 amMy brother owns/runs a small retail/service business. He's making a good attempt at trying to reach out to everyone he can but also conserve his limited resources for the low hanging fruit and the big ticket wins. He created a Wordpress blog not long ago but then along came Buzz so he built another last week on Blogger. He's a good writer but has neither the time, inclination or skills to pretty up the pages. Happily, he has an extremely creative and talented older sister (in addition to his other older sister).
It's a cool challenge to figure out how to customize using 1) only stolen graphics since his franchise considers these efforts to be off-grid and not supported so won't supply the good stuff and 2) sticking to the free versions.
I didn't know a thing about Wordpress but I got a history with Blogger. I actually tried it before LJ. I had a paid account. Then Google bought it and turned on the 'free' button (for years there was only the free Google version) but they sent me a really lovely hoody sweatshirt which I still have.
Today was the first time I'd don't anything in Blogger in a long time. I started out trying to recreate and tweak the CSS and rebuild a template and then discovered that they have built that all into a very easy - fairly customizable toolset. Easy peasy. Wow.
Nice. It's fun to do and he really appreciates it.
No work today yet, so I think I'm going to do some shelf editing. My hallway is lined with wonderful shelves which get too much stuff on 'em. It's time for a culling.
