susandennisI found, via Buzz, this morning, that my brother has a new entry with a great idea. Domain names as baby gifts.
I got susandennis.com back when the west was wild and domain names were free for the asking. At one point, renewal was a 2 year minimum for $70. Now it is dirt cheap.
I don't use godaddy (my brother's example) for a variety of reasons - I much prefer DirectNic but these days, it really doesn't matter. My Mom was thrilled to the gills when I got her her own domain so she could have her own - never changing - email address. She was so impressed and so were all of her friends.
My perfect gift from a 12-24 month old baby has always been a harmonica. From now on, my newborn gift is going to be their own domain name!
