More sox

Fortissima Colori #9060 - size 2's for ribbing, 3's for sox - it looks like a little more than half of each of 2 skeins.

I have another color of this same pattern but I think I'm going to save it until the next Shipping Free special at my online yarn shop. I want to get some #0's and #1's and try it on those like kjaz's is doing.

Herrschners is where I do all my online yarn shopping. If you sign up for their email notification, about 3 times a year you get an email saying that if you place an order of more than $20 in the next xx days, you'll get free shipping. This email always costs me a bundle. They do not have 'fine' yarns but they do carry Caron's Simply Soft which is what I use for afghans and they have it at the best price I've ever found.

However, they are slow as Christmas... plan ahead. It's generally two weeks from the time you press the 'buy now' button until you get the goods.

I'm now working on a pair of mens socks out of regular varigated yarn and I gotta tell you, it's not nearly as much fun...

Yeah, I'm afraid that it is going to happen... I so hope not but every time they've ever set a strike date before, they've gone on strike. This one just seems particularly pitiful. Even our nicest, most articulate guys on the team are saying the stupidest things. 18 year veteran making about $8 million: 'Baseball careers only last 5 years and if you average that out like a regular job the avergage guy only makes something like $100, $150 thousand a year. That's just not right' You are playing a game, bucko! And, you don't even have to buy your outfit!! They have found their feet and guns are cocked.

But, really... I'm not whipped up about it
