Well, I'm done and I feel so House Invaders, so Trading Spaces (with no trading), so Before and After...
I got frisky with the room that had the third closet and got a lovely chocolate brown with then ivory stipes. It's a rayon so it hangs really nicely. It was on sale and ended up costing less than the muslin. This picture sucks and I'm too tired to fiddle with a better one. You get the drift...

And, the smaller bedroom closet from yesterday's 'before'...

I had to go to the hardware store again today. I had kind of poo poo'd
edbook's suggestion that I could put in bi-fold doors. I checked them out today and I think maybe I poo poo'd a little too quickly. That might well be something I can do if/when I get tired of these curtains but that's going to be a while.
I was lying in bed last night looking at them and imagining the magic of 'what's behind the curtain??' Ha. I am so tired and so sore and so proud of my project.

Date: 2002-09-02 05:39 pm (UTC)1. I used regular cafe rods (just really long ones - adjustable)
2. The installation hardware they give you doesn't work, I just used giant cup hooks. These work fine.
3. And I used the 7/8" clip on rings (found 'em right next to the rods in Home Depot)- new sewing needed just open up their little jaws and grab that fabric.
4. Next time I will buy sheets. Use the big hem on the floor end then just fold over the top to make the right length and clip those little rings onto the fold. And... you are done.

Date: 2002-09-02 06:03 pm (UTC)You squeeze the sides of the rings and the little jaws open right up to grab the fabric. They are very simple to use. I've never seen them in any color but brass and they do show.
