Busy Day!

Well, I did my bit for the sagging economy today. I went to:

Target (I so love that store - it's so well designed and I love the stuff)

• interesting looking gray sweater top


• funky blue lounge pants with green frogs on them (they were on sale and too cool)

• red sheets for new closet curtains

• nothing

• score! the 3 skeins of yarn I need to finish current sweater


• enough of a yarn I've been meaning to try for another sweater

• line way way too long - I left

Home Depot

• really cool window things (see below)

Fred Meyer

• shirt


• toothpaste


• hair gel

Then on to the party which didn't suck too much. I did find out that they are just about to hire a guy to be my boss's boss. I didn't meet him but got to watch him. Jury's still out. And one of the people there said that Jodi (my manager) had her baby this afternoon. (Wouldn't surprise me - her due date was yesterday and she's generally just a little late to everything.)

The window over my doors catches bright sunlight this time of hear for about 2 hours in the morning. It makes a terrible glare on everything. I saw these cool window things - they are plastic cling things that don't glue on but just kind of stay on automagically - no sticky, no nothing. They had several different designs but I settled on this one.

Now I have a 'stained glass window' with a glare stopper!



Here's a close up of the design. I can't wait until tomorrow to see how they work!



Now this tired butt is heading for the couch.

That's lovely stained glass. I like the blue trim around the window too.

Actually, the blue is the whole wall - it looks like trim but it's really a recessed window. The earthquake did a nice job on parts of that wall so when the repairers were done they said they would have a hard time matching the paint and would I be interested in a color... Earthquake blue!

I did my bit for the UK economy yesterday too ..we bought a Playstation 2 AND an X box ;)

It is nice to get into a bunch of stores and get a good handle on all the stuff that's out there that you don't need!

You did factor into my shopping yesterday, tho... You remarked (I think talking about socks) that men don't get to wear colors like women do. Ok, mister, you just take yourownself down to Target. Check out women's pajama pants. Now go to the men's department and check out the pajama pants there... Who wins the color race??? MEN! Also the price race. These that I bought yesterday were in the men's department and they are royal blue with bright green frogs on them. It was a toss between these and the ones with the colorful chilis. I may have to go back and get those...

I think the difference is that I can wear them with a colorful t-shirt out on the street and everyone says - look at those wild pants!! Guy wears them out on the street and everyone says - what's he doing outside in his pajamas? Sigh.

But, even more curiouser to me is how you found it after you missed it. Do you check and recheck?

I did think of you and your new bedroom when I was in Home Depot. Everyone there looks like they have such purpose.
