Finished project

Here's the sweater I've been working on.... Pattern from the Fall 2002 Knitter's. Lion Brand MicroSpun 10 skeins (maybe 11). #6 needles. Followed the pattern pretty closely (which is fairly unusual for me)...

Thanks... Pillows would be fun and I'll be that chinelle is quite the challenge - you using big needles (not your 0's, I hope!!)... And, I hate to ask this because I have a huge stash already and don't need more yarn or projects but... what is Opal?

(I was very near one of my LYS's yesterday and specifically did NOT go in and then got home and had an email from Herschnner's offering me free shipping for anything I order this weekend. When they clean this place out after I die, they will be able to open a yarn shop with the stash.)

Opal... you made me look it up! It's the yarn that is only sold in LYS's. I remember now. Crap and there I was yesterday - close enough to check. Oh well. Next time. Get those photos developed! Inquiring eyes want to see!

Thanks... A couple of weeks, I think - I can't remember - oh wait, three weeks. It was a pretty easy, fast pattern to work up. I'm thinking about doing another one with some varigated yarn I have. But, first I have to finish the afghan I promised my Mom.

I already believed you when you said you got new glasses!! Amazing focus on detail there... Yes they are hopping frogs.... Not flannel, tho... just jersey. Target, men's PJ Bottoms Department. $9.99 Quite the fun find.

I totally cannot believe you guys can see and found the frog pants! I didn't realize I was collecting friends with such great eyesight and eye for detail!! The frog pants are fun for sure.

the frog pants... gotta get me some now... Ilene just gave me some ants pants today... I can't imagine from that picture that anyone could tell they were frogs..... probably spying on you by webcam...

what a lot of work the sweater and such detailed design on the top... wow.... my Mom used to needle a lot before she lost the ability to use her hands and used to go to yarn stores that were going out of business and buy out their remaining stock... all the colors that are not normally found in nature and were never bought even in going out of business sales... when she died, we took two pickup truckloads full to the top of the canopy to give to some nursing homes that were asking for such... I think they were suprised by the colors... I am good at knots but to make them with big needles and to make them into patterns and have the patience to do so is mind boggling to me... such talent...

Thank you for validating my opinion that those frogs are not detectable with the naked eye from this photo... They were featured on the webcam a lot this week that must have been it...

I love the story about your Mom's yarn. Every knitter worth his or her needles has an embarrassing amount of stash. Knitting is such a satisfying diversion. It's my excuse for watching junk TV and while I get most of my pleasure out of the process, the product is always a good gift, a fun thing to wear or a nice whatever to snuggle under. Heck, you can't ask much more out of a diversion...

Great looking sweater, nice work on the top, lots of talent there. My wife is the talented one here, she does lots of counted cross stitch needle work. Takes here months to a year for one picture. Me I just buy and sell stuff.

Thanks! Counted cross stitch takes the patience of a saint and an oh so steady hand. I have a piece I did - a mostly white on white magnolia - that is dated 1979 - it's framed on my wall to remind me that I no longer have the patience, the steady hand, the eyesight or enough lifetime left to start another! I so admire anyone who can 'paint' with thread.

But, I'm not sure I'd dismiss your photography with that implication of no talent, tho.
