Cubes R Us

As promised, if late, the pictures of my 'home' at work. I work for a 3 year old start up company. Our offices are in what was, for years, an Italian restaurant. The bar is still here but instead of tables we have cubes. The engineers work in the main restaurant and the marketing and sales people work in what was the private dining room. It used to be a very nice restaurant but it went down hill for a couple of years before it finally closed. My condo association used to hold their annual meetings in the private dining room where I am right now typing this entry!

The name of the company is PAR3 Communications. We do event based notifications - mainly voice. You order something from Norm Thompson and you will likely get an automated call letting you know your order has been shipped. If your Alaska or Northwest or US Air flight is changed or delayed, you will get an automated call to let you know and give you options for making other arrangements. In some parts of the country, if you don't pay your utility bill, you will get an automated call to let you know you are getting ready to get cut off and allowing you to pay your bill automagically. All those calls are us.

My job is to write all the brochures and marketing pieces and white papers. I also maintain the corporate website and intranet. And I manage all of the swag (giveaways). I am the logo and branding police and I ride herd on formatting of any corporate documents - proposals, contracts, documentation, technical papers, etc. I handle the production of any printed material of any kind. And I am currently the only source, within the company, for corn candy - a service I provide year round.

Now isn't that a lot of baloney to wade through just to get to some lousy photos?????

My cube is actually three cubes. I use two to house all my marketing documents - each of those slots in the plastic things on the right hold a different piece.

This is the center of my work area.

Off to the left you can see my view out as well as the aforementioned corn candies.

To the right you can see my library and snake pit of cords.

And... that's it... my daytime world...

Pretty swanky digs there, Miss!

it is nice to see where people work. I love those company give a way items. I see you have candy corn there. FESTIVE and tasty.

I may set up my work cam tomorrow. Our look is 60's CEMENT. Everything is cement here. Like a prison. Everything is dirty and fingermarked up. At least my office is clean. Shabby but clean. I do have a nice Mac. Will send you the url if I get it set up tomorrow.

How tidy you are. I believe this just took you off the invitation list to my hovel.

Believe me, you wouldn't want to set foot in here. It's like the garbage chute in Star Wars, minus the liquid factor.
