susandennisSaturday I realized I was running out of contact lenses. I hate the place where I got my last prescription. They were difficult to get to and expensive and made me come back about four times. All I want is some contacts, not the hand-holding. And, since the only thing wrong with my eyes is old age, I only need one contact to correct the problem. I only wear one in my left eye. None in my right eye. Works great.
The last time I ordered on the web, I used 1-800-Contacts. That was about 3 years ago and since then I have been inundated with direct (junk) mail from them. I finally got them to quit sending me email but I must get a post card from them once a week which annoys me.
So this time I googled and checked out everyone but them. I only found 2 places that sell my kind of contacts (high water content) and the one besides 1-800-Contacts wouldn't sell me enough for just one eye. I had to buy their minimum order for each eye. Which, in my case, I had to buy their minimum order twice.
1-800-Contacts would allow me a minimum order so I figured what the heck. I'd use the same account and at least wouldn't get any more postcards than I'm already getting. I placed the order on Saturday. You have to fill in the Doctor's name and telephone number. I figured that would be a show stopper since surely he'd want me to come in again and buy from him. I was absolutely sure of this when I did not get a confirmation email on Saturday or on Sunday.
This morning I got two emails at the same time. One said my order had been processed. The other said my order had been shipped. Then at lunch I went home and the damn things had been delivered!!! Pretty impressive. Now if they'd just kill the junk mail.
