Never ever ever go to Costco in December - even the beginning of December. Opt instead for root canal or knee capping or water torture.

And that whole Clementine rumor??? Totally false.

But, the day is saved by a Christmas present. My friend Jeanie - whom I've known now for nearly 10 years via email and never met - sent me an Unbelievable Apple!!! I've always wanted one and never had one and now I do and I am going to slice that sucker and give it a taste right this minute!!!!

Happy dance happy dance happy dance.

What I love for Christmas is Italians like to give these boxed christmas cakes called "Panettone". They're vacuum sealed and have a shelf life of about 900 years. But they're amazingly fresh and moist when you open the box. They also come with this packaged powdered sugar which you dump on top of the cake and it's so friggen good.

I think I might pick up a couple! There's a real Italian grocer near my work ing DT Bellevue. And I think the World Market/CostPlus has some as well.

Man does that look good! I saw some in a gift magazine but was not thrilled about the price. They seem to be hot gift items. I was thinking of making some as gifts. Tell me how you like it! Oh man, I'm hungry!
