Well, that was interesting...
Jun. 7th, 2010 02:41 pmI did get a quote, finally, from the insurance agent - it was just at 3 times the Geico quote. Yeah, nope.
So I went back to Geico and fiddled some more - they really do make it so painless. And finally settled on a nice little package and hit the 'buy' button and then went through all of the steps to 'done now'. There weren't that many, they were all very clear and logical, I was hoping that I could charge it to my Discover card and have them just re-up me automatically - found that, easy peasy. They even asked me what spam I wanted and made it crystal how to go the no spam route.
On every page is info on how to call them if you want to do it by phone instead. I was so ready to call - did I mention that I have a new phone that makes wonderful phone calls? - but I never even came close to needing clarification or help. It was all very well spelled out.
I have to say, I was pretty damn impressed. I hate the cave men but I love the gecko and I'm liking his insurance, too.
Next up home owners. When I sent the email (no, I do NOT want to call her back) to the agent, I asked if I needed to cancel the homeowners. I will if I will get a refund. And then I'll do the Liberty Mutual thing.
End of an era. I've had my insurance at the same insurance company for 18 years now. I've had the same red trimmed 'put this in your car' card and green invoices for all those years... I do not believe I ever filed a claim with them for anything. They made out like a bandit with me.
