big windows update day...

I actually don't remember an update Tuesday that had so many critical updates. I just did a trolling on my non-work laptop and it found 'em - 13. Downloading and installing now.

Days like this are when I realize just how many more computers I have than I really need. Each one will need to be done... Yeah I could automate but I hate to have anyone but me make a reboot decision on one of my machines. So I'll just do it and bitch about it.

My thing with the automatic install is I turn it off because I never want the updates on the first day. People like you can be the canaries and guinea pigs :-) Then a few days later when I know the updates won't hose my machines I'll do them manually. I don't even update my virtual machines automatically, much less the real ones.

That is a great plan. My work machine, however, has to be updated immediately or I can't get to the network. I use my non-work laptop as my canary. So at least I don't kill the work machine without knowing about it first.
