Making the PizzaWe made pizza - it was fun and we avoided the 12-2 Mariner loss du jour.

This is Ron and Ann (the woman in the apron is the bakery owner). (It links to other pictures from the class.) It was actually quite fun and interesting. There were about a dozen of us crowded around the table in the middle of the kitchen. No posh digs this - it was a working kitchen complete with signs like "Don't forget to order ham!"

The pizza was delicious. The bakery sells the dough and it makes one delicious crust. I will likely never do any pizza making here but it was still fun to get the good tips and know how to use the dough if the occasion ever arises.

Plus taking the pictures with the phone is such fun! I do need to practice, but it's so handy. And so easy to just hit the 'send to Flickr' button and boom, they are gone. However, I downloaded a Twitter app this afternoon and didn't notice it was set to poll every 5 minutes so my battery died. But, not until after we were finished and I checked the score - it was only the 6th inning then and it was already 11-2. So we went and got a beer before we came home. Once home, I just popped in my spare battery and fixed the Twitter app to ONLY poll when I tell it to. We're good now.

Image (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mhaithaca/3630564597/)It's really easy to take someone else's dough and make pizza at home. Cheap, too. My supermarket sells portioned-out balls of fresh pizza dough from their bakery, either refrigerated or frozen, and I bet yours does, too.

It works especially well since I got a pizza stone from a friend who sells Pampered Chef stuff. It heats up and provides a good crisp crust. (When I'm not making pizza, I leave it in the oven because it helps keep the temperature stable.)

On a Food Network show I learned that many pizza shops will sell you dough. But for some reason I am too shy to ask the folks at my favorite shop. I buy it at the supermarket as one of your commenters reported. Looks like you all had a fun time.

My husband makes homemade pizza almost every Thursday night. He makes one white pie and one regular. Once the warm weather kicks in, he usually has to stop because he's too busy with work.

Weird. Looks tasty, but weird. I may have to give it a try.
