I was watching one of my techy podcasts this afternoon when it was mentioned that if you uninstall an app you bought in the Android Market place within 48 hours your money is refunded. Seriously??? I have not bought any apps mainly because there are so many free ones, I figure I could make do. But there have been a couple of paid ones I would have liked to have seen work and maybe have purchased... Now I absolutely will.

I actually found the details on the deal:

How to return an app
From Market, visit the My Downloads page, and select the application you'd like to return.
Applications that are eligible for return are marked with a 'Uninstall & Refund' button. Please note that after the 24-hour return period has expired, all sales are final.
After 24 hours, selecting the "Uninstall" button will simply remove the application from your device.
So not 48 hours but still... I bought one for $.99 and, sure enough, there's the 'Uninstall & Refund' button. Kewel! This is going to cost me but I am delighted. I have no problem paying for software but I don't like buying a pig in a poke. I actually sent one guy $5 because his app is so nice and pretty and I use it every day. Now I can just buy, see and know for sure.
Dog Days
---

I saw two UPS trucks today so apparently, our Natural Disaster (which, according to their website, continues) is not all encompassing. I have seen far fewer trucks today than normal and we got no USP delivery at all today. It's still a giant WTF in my book.

The granddogs have arrived. They are so cute. Ann and Ron came by with them and invited me on a walk and walk we did. The dogs are both a little disconcerted at being in a new place and in the city and with new people. Ann and Ron are a little disconcerted because the younger one (terrier and dachshund mix) cries and cries. I hope the four of them all get alone ok.

My brother has two sons both in their 30s. The older one is a responsible husband, father, citizen and mental health professional living in Boston. The younger one is usually in some kind of trouble of some kind. He's living with his girlfriend who is more than a few years older than he is and he is he father of her 5th child all of whom live with them. He is often employed and often not jail. He lives near my brother in Texas. And is prepping to donate bone marrow. My brother said it better:

My son, Matt has had quite a few defeats recently and it's been hard to be supportive. But in 1999 he had signed up to be a bone marrow donor and two weeks ago he was informed that he had a match. He's now in New England getting daily shots to make him sick so his white blood count will go up and getting ready to have some marrow removed next Monday to help save a kid with Leukemia.
Teach your parents well, indeed.

I was just speculating about donations in general. Although it did occur to me recently that sperm donors do get paid -- I don't know how much, probably not a lot -- and when I thought about it, I did think of you asking me if I'd ever had sex with a woman!

Shots to make him sick? That process sounds horrible!

I think donating sperm sounds way more fun.

What a selfless thing to do. Just knowing pain is involved turns me off. Hope it works out for the receipient.
