Well, the business page anyway...

In the mail today was a big brown envelope from a bookshop I used to work with. Inside was an old newspaper and a post it note saying they were cleaning up and found this and thought I might want it. It was a copy of the December 16, 1996 Seattle Times - Business Monday section. An article on the mystical world of the World Wide Web. The photographer who came to the house was really fun and nice and loved Bubba, my fabulous cat (who went to kitty heaven in 1999). He got this shot which at the time I just loved but now it's fascinating.

I love that tiny monitor and that website. OfficeSpace.Com has morphed into quite the sophisticated operation long past what is on that screen. Netscape 2 was the bomb at the time. I had a couple of chins less than I do now. And, boy, do I ever miss Bubba. He was a great cat. He sat there for a good 30 minutes while the photographer got the best shot.

I found the article on their website. I sure would have liked to have been more clever and articulate. Actually, I'm sure I was - the reporter just didn't get it right.

What a fun thing to get in the mail out of the blue.

Great pic! What creative posing!

I made the front page of the Providence Journal a couple of years ago. Similar reason. Will see if I can find a copy and post it.

Very cool!! I am suitably impressed. I don't know it that is a wig or your hair, but since I got mine cut yesterday, it looks just like yours in the picture.

Well, thanks, but it sure freaked me out when I first saw it. I have not worn my hair this short ever, I don't think. I am so tired of hair issues. You have the right idea. This cut sure is easy though. Blow dries in minutes. A little mousse and I am good to go. Don't know about the look, but I am never satisfied with my hair. The only time I truly liked it I was in my 20s/30s and the style was long and straight. Perfect.

Excellent, and just after your birthday too. Another little unexpected birthday gift.
Bubba was a beautiful cat.

Amazing photograph! Thanks a million for sharing it.

Reminds me I made the front page of the Warkworth Journal once - the photo's not nearly so glam as yours, but I'm going to dig it out, scan it and post.

I'm so good at stealing other people's ideas!

What a great surprise and great photo of both you and Bubba...he's so cute...looks like he had personality plus and a natural camera ham, no doubt! You should frame it.
