Now I are one...
Jun. 8th, 2003 09:08 amA while back I was wandering through the FAQ's at Netflix looking for something and saw where one of their frequently asked questions was 'What do I do if I lose your return envelope?'
How lame is that? I thought. What idiot would do something that stupid.
Now only the very sharpest of you (and since all of you fall into that grammatically erroneous category of sharpest) will know where this is going...
When I get a Netflix movie, I open it, remove the tear-off lid and put the envelope with the movie on top of the DVD. Yesterday I discovered that I had 2 envelopes on the DVD player - both with movies. But, I had one movie inside the DVD player. No third envelope anywhere.
Off to Netflix to read the answer to that FAQ. I feel lame and, at the same time, in with the in crowd.

Date: 2003-06-08 12:25 pm (UTC)Well...duh...I had no idea there was a FAQ about what to do if....until a couple weeks later when one of my DVD's did not reach Netflix. The ONLY one that I took to the Post Office and dropped it into the drive-up box. Usually I hand it to my mail person. (I have a wonderful one too, Carmen. Same one for 10 years now)
So, there I was looking for "what to do if" you don't get credit back for one you've sent back. All kinds of scenarios. Who knew you could return up to 2 in the same red envelope?
Just to keep myself straight, I now place all Netflix envelopes and DVD's right here near my monitor. I usually watch them on my PC so, it's handy.
At any rate, Netflix received the one in my makeshift envelope, but still not the one I dropped at the P.O.
Surprisingly, I did not have to pay for it.
I'm very pleased with Netflix. They're speedy. (I'm the problem)

10 years with the same mail carrier! Wow.
