18 months but it is done

susandennisI just got an email from the woman at the trust who pays Mom's bills. She came in this morning to a voice mail from American Express saying that Mom's account has been moved to a new advisor.
I've been trying to make this happen since forfuckingever. I looked through my notes. The first entry is a call to American Express asking to change advisors and change the address on the account. That entry is dated January 7, 2002. It is atop the first page of what is now about an inch and a half of papers and correspondance and faxes and notes.
The address was changed on May 23 of this year with written proof arriving on May 30.
My last letter demanded the account be changed to a new advisor by June 1 and we be notified in writing by June 15 or I was taking my case to the Better Business Bureau and the Insurance Commissioner of South Carolina.
I'll be interested in if/when they send written confirmation. I toyed with the idea of calling Minneapolis to confirm, and calling the new advisor to confirm, but you know what? I'm not going to. I'm taking my trophy and calling it quits. I'm done with this. I'm moving on with my life. A new chapter begins.
