A surprise treat

Some time ago, I don't know when or even remember why, I recorded Tortilla Soup off Encore. Today, I thought I'd check it out. Wow! It's an $8 on kjaz's $8 scale!!

What Eat, Drink, Man, Woman did for Chinese and Big Night did for Italian, TS does for Mexican. Yummmy! Food make such a good movie. But, I liked this story even better. Excellent.

How about Like Water For Chocolate, my Dinner with Andre or Babette's Feast?

I saw My Dinner with Andre years and years ago and I don't remember the food. I do remember it seemed to go on forever with no point. But I could have just been in a mood.

I skipped Like Water for Chocolate and I forget why and I don't think I ever heard of Babette's Feast.

But, they are all three now in my Netflix queue! Thanks!!!

Yes, Babettes' Feast is a movie not to be missed! Very low-key, weaving contrasts quite subtly.

This movie comes to mind at the oddest times. Wish I could slice vegetables the way he did - or "save" a dessert in an emergency!

I was just fascinated by all of the cooking stuff. Making that basting brush out of those leaves... And I don't cook at all - hate to cook - refused to cook - am an eater not a cooker.
