When you live alone and work alone, there is stuff you never think about and no one ever knows so they can't tell you... Like making noise when you get up. I do it all the time. I never thought about it. The cats have never made a single comment.

But my brother did. I thought it was funny but didn't think much about it.

And then tonight, I learned it was a real thing.

I was watching Better with You which is a really cute situation comedy that I'm pretty sure no one watches but me...

They had this whole bit about making noise when you get up or sit down or get into bed ... and clearly labeled it as something you should NOT do.

I think I've been doing it so long that I can't not do it now. I can try but I am not hopeful. I just had no idea it was a thing.

I watch Better with You -- and I like it and love the characters. I haven't seen the one you are mentioning here yet, so I must have it recorded. I'll think of you when I watch it.

I'm only 34 and I often groan when I get up!

I think brothers and sisters (family in general) notice things more. Enjoy your noises!

My body regularly makes most of the noises for me so I don't have to. Mostly just if I've been sitting in an odd position for too long or something. Creaking, popping, that sort of thing. heh

I watch Better With You, too

I have to wait until it gets on the internets. My TV never made the transition to HD.

Sometimes I talk to myself, but usually only when I have a to do list and need to keep track of tasks.

What I actually said............

I was not initially commenting on my sister, rather that I thought one of the primary challenges of getting old was not groaning when you get up out of a chair.

Well, OK, maybe it was a little about her.. .. but it was something I had noticed about me and thought it an interesting challenge to overcome. I like small challenges. It makes me think I've accomplished something without getting too far out there.
