This is the third time recently that I've written an entry and *thought* I sent it off - only to find it sitting in drafts when I go to make the next one? It never happened before last week and now three times. Am I losing it???

From last night:

I really like UPS's new tracking info! I sent a box to my brother and just checked the tracking number... impressive.

I never got a good booth babe shot for [livejournal.com profile] mhaithaca. Sorry, dude. I owe ya'.

My brother and I were really surprised at the lack of smokers in Las Vegas. We finally ran in to some and by the time we left, he was complaining of second hand smoke induced cough. I would have enjoyed some second hand smoke - I love the smell, I do, but I only got the very occasional whiff.

But we did encounter one smoker ... in the elevator! I haven't seen that in years.

I watched a lot of the CES coverage today and it was fun and satisfying to learn we actually saw many of the highlights. However the most amazing thing we saw - ASUS Iris Project wasn't mentioned by anyone.

Visits to North Carolina and Texas brought back memories of my childhood when there used to be ashtrays outside every elevator... because they're still there, down south! (Actually, I think much of North Carolina has now prohibited smoking in public spaces.) Ashtrays in the restrooms amuse me, too.

About 13 years ago I was in Kentucky and was blown away by people smoking in hotels and other public spaces. It was supremely odd to me. I've been there since but not in another hotel so I don't know if that's still status quo or not. My state is smoke-free in public spaces except for casinos.

I've spent the last 20 in a place where smokers are below child and animal molesters on the food chain.

That totally made me LOL.

Do they still allow smoking in the casino areas? It's still allowed in Atlantic City casinos in designated areas. But the smell still permeates the non-smoking areas which is one of the reasons I don't bother going to Atlantic City to gamble.

That ASUS Iris is amazing. I was just passing the youtube video along to some of my coworkers.
