I had a nice lunch with Ann and Ron before Costco. At Costco, I spent way too much money but I didn't get anything particularly frivolous - ink cartridges, fire logs, kitty litter, etc... the usual. I did get some cheese which was not on the list but does look ohhhh so good.

While waiting for Ann and Ron to finish up, I visited my new TV. It's gynormous. Really huge. But it's simple and nice looking like I wanted and has a supremely beautiful picture - probably not even as beautiful as it could be because it's set for 'store'.

I spent some time this morning with the manual and then some time in forums reading that some have experienced real problems with HDMI hooked up TiVo's on Vizio machines. TiVos are critical for me. I have 2 and they must work on the TV or I will be taking advantage of Amazon's return free within 30 days. I can hook up one using composite and the other using component but I'd sure rather use HDMI. We shall see.

After Costco, I helped Ron on his computer - set up restore points and removed some HP bloatware that kept bugging him and then failing. The latter ended up speeding up his operations considerably so now he's very happy.

Laundry is done and when I finish this, I'll put it away. The bills are paid. My new pillow arrived and it is as wonderful as the hotel's.

This has been a perfectly lovely day off.

I've had two problems that I consider to be minor.

On the three-years-ago set, video would occasionally get staticky when switching to the TiVo main menu. Turning the set off and on again fixed it.

On the this-year model, it sometimes "swallows" some of the TiVo sounds. In every other way, it works fine. So... I do without the sounds.
