Different chefs, different ways... Karen took a long time to get started and Tom took even longer. Tom's list of stuff he forgot to bring was long and - giant stereotype here - he couldn't find anything. He talked a lot and his sentences would start with 'do you have...? or Remind me where the...'

Anita, came in here, plugged her earpbuds in her ear and dug right in. And, already she's got extras. Two good sized tart shells of crusts for quiches - and she brought all the ingredients and has the recipe all typed out (way easy enough and fun for me to use leftovers).

Karen and Tom had menus - well, sometimes Tom forgot - a list of the dishes prepared. Anita's menu describes the dish like in a restaurant and includes detailed prep instructions. I think she's going to make me do more cooking (prep work) than I might like but it smells so damn good that I'm willing to give it a shot!!

Be sure that she's really “inviting you to learn cooking” and isn't actually a German cannibal!

You might gently point out that the less cooking you have to do the better. That's kind of the whole point. Reheating in the microwave is fine. Assembling a quiche on your own, not so much.

Yes, but has she thought of bringing treats for the Kitty Observers?

She sounds wonderful - even if there's a bit more production work from you. I can't wait to hear about the results.
