Just before 6 p.m. Kyle from Comcast called to say that just after we hung up before, they got an avalanche of calls from my neighborhood and so the troops came out and found the problem and fixed it. He even gave me details of the problem that totally matched what I saw here.

Since I spend so much time working via VPN, I know instantly when I lose access and/or enough packets. I guess my neighbors got home and tried to log on.

Then he went on to give me his phone number and work hours and invited me, a couple of times, to call him if the problem happens again. Amazing and very very cool. It was an ugly day but I am, once again, a happy Comcast customer. Kind of amazing.

Computers are happy, TiVo is happy, webcam is happy, and, most importantly of all, I am happy.

Our CBS affiliate is KIRO pronounced exactly like Cairo. So when Brian Williams of NBC tells me he's coming to me from KIRO, I think Whaaaaa?

I had Chef Anita's manacotti tonight and it was soo soo soo delicious. And her garlic bread is very garlic and just as delicioius. And I have enough of both for dinner tomorrow. Yum.

I just went to your webcam, and for the first time, saw your teddy bear in relation to yourself - they're considerably bigger than I'd imagined.

Now I'm REALLY impressed with how many you turn out!

Comcast techs probably LOVE educated, experienced, tech-savvy customers like you. I'm not one bit surprised he gave you his direct number. Let's say that I lived in your building. If Comcast needed to get information about the problem I know they'd much rather speak with you than me!

Does chef Anita make the manicotti pancakes herself or does she use pasta?

The real homemade ones (my grandma Carmela from Naples recipe) are very similar to crepes. Mmmm, so delicious.

They do freeze well. They are like a crepe in that they are a light pancake. The recipe (as passed down from grandma C) is for each egg, use one shot glass of flour and one shot glass of milk
Mix all ingredients in a bowl adding salt to taste. Fry them up. I guess my grandma was too poor to buy measuring cups.
