The cable guy showed up. He was kind of cute but I got over it real fast when I took a whiff... Combo of eau d' locker room with some scent of stale meat. Lovely. And he was working on a wad of chewing gum that was bigger than a house. If I had shoved him into the wall, he would have bounced back.

And sharp. Yessiree... While I had told the nice cable lady that neither tv got channel 60 worth a damn, and my neighbors' didn't get it either, Smell Boy said that it must be my TV. Nope. Must be the cable to the TV. Nope. Gosh. Do you have another TV? Does it have the same problem? Wow. Do you know if anyone else in this building has the same problem? Wow. Well, this will have to go 'back to central'.

Am I excited or what??!! After many questions I finally was able to get out of him that 'back to central' meant they would fix it from the street in a day or two.

When I signed his little sheet, I noticed that all of the details - two tv's, both with the problem, also neighbors having problem - spelled out pretty darned clearly right there on his little sheet.

Glad we're not wasting a brain surgeon on this caper.

Meanwhile I get a note from my Mom who's checking the webcam to see what's new...

"I wish you could see the picture of you at this minute. You are at the computer and look as if you are going to sneeze if you do not die first. In fact it gives me the feeling the cable man fixed you but forgot to turn you on."

She really nailed it.

Oh excellent question and know Smell Boy did not net me a bill credit. He got here at 3:30. Sigh.

Actually, I have never seen the move, but I saw enough trailers and reviews and other coverage about it at the time, that I totally get your reference. But, trust me, this guy was not Jim Carey... about as talented in cable-ese, tho.
