A few years ago I was in Target just trolling and I snagged a pair of gym shorts. With pockets. I actually, as I often do, got two pair. When I got home, however, I discovered that the second 'pair' was really a short skirt. So I took it back. They had no more shorts.

They are the best shorts ever. They do not bunch at the crotch when I walk. They have pockets. They are comfortable. They don't look crappy. They are just perfect. So perfect that I do laundry more often just so I can wear them.

I'll bet you I have wasted more than $100 looking for a pair as good. I've returned bunches of no go's. Some I thought would work but just never did so they went to Goodwill. Periodically, I try again.

Today I scored! I found some made by Champion that kind of looked like they might work. I ordered - two pair.

They came today and they are very nearly EXACTLY like the Target pants. I am so happy. I will give them a try tomorrow and if they perform like the Target pants at the gym, I'm going to order 4 more (2 to wear and 2 for backup/insurance).

And speaking of workout... There's a new website for Seattle that fascinates me. Seattle Stairs is a complete reference for all of the beautiful stairs nestled around Seattle - complete with maps and beautiful photos and number of steps and exploring suggestions. Stairs are hard for me so I probably won't be doing more than exploring on the computer but I love what they have done.

The original Target shorts may have been made by Champion - they do a lot of sportswear for Target.

Sports Authority carries Champion stuff as well... have some shorts I love by them as well, one pink, one black - I need to replace one of the pairs soon. I think they're $14 ea, or 2/$20 when they're on sale.. I haven't been there in a bit, but I know that's where I got them. LOVE them!

The Seattle Stairs link did not work for me - is this what you were looking at:
http://www.communitywalk.com/seattle/wa/seattle_stairs/map/388644
???

And I suppose there is a pun somewhere in having pants for backup, but I don't think I'll go there. :-)

Thanks, that's a much prettier and complete site. My high school days were spent in a house a few blocks above Rainier Avenue, and there are a couple of small stairs in that area which didn't make the map. And a couple which did.
