I bought gas today. So gas prices will be going down starting right now. I only buy gas when I run out which is about every 3 or 4 months. Just checked Mint and my last tankful was purchased on February 2. Because I am a shrewd shopper, I always hit empty when the gas price is highest.

I'm guessing it will be back to $3 probably next week.

To be honest, I doubt we'll see gas much below $4, if even that low ever again, as it usually happens, when gas runs up like it has, the new reality is once it drops, ti's still higher than it was previous to the run up in gas prices.

I'm still going to replace the truck with a gas sipping small car soon.

I've read a few articles over the last days that say indications are that gas will drop to $3.50 "by the start of summer". I'll believe it when I see it.

I hope they're right. Its kind of depressing when it takes $70 to fill the tank on one vehicle...and its only a 16 gallon tank.

Hasn't helped yet. Gas was $3.91 at Costco. Still only used $34.02 to fill up my car. So glad I only drive 10 miles a day - before random trips of course. That's just assuming I only go to the train and back again.
