Today I tried the Start Earlier And Break Mid Morning scheme. I think I like it better. I like the post 9 am vibe at the gym. And I like the break. And starting work at 6 am isn't that big a deal.

One fun part of the gym vibe is two guys - most likely gay, most likely a very long term couple and most definitely fun and friendly. Today they were side by side on two rowing machines rowing in rhythm. I was dying to stand behind them and tell them I wanted to water ski but, I wasn't sure they would get the joke.

Now I need to grab a fast shower and get back to work.

I too enjoy the nuances inherent in working out at different times in the day. I usually start work around 11 or 12, which means, if I go to the gym before work, I have to be there around 9:30 or 10. The nice part of that is getting there after all the people who start work around 9 a.m. have blown through and are gone. It's a different vibe, more relaxed. More courtesy from others, because we're not all rabid about Getting There On Time.
In related news, my OB/GYN came through my register line today, and I told her my good news about wupping my blood sugar down. It turns out she goes to the same gym I go to, only at 5:30 a.m. Yikes. Although I explained that I go there before I go into Wegmans, and she said she does the same thing. Neither one of us would work out if we did it at the end of the day.
