It is not yet 9 am and I have already had my head sliced open, sewn shut and I'm back in my living room. Nice.

It is weird to be out on the street before 7 am. And in line at Starbucks like normal people. I actually got to the office building before the office opened so I sat in the lobby and ate my donut and drank my coffee an got caught up on LJ.

They did a great job of numbing my head. They had me lie on my stomach so I could only see the instrument tray, the wall and their abdomens. It was only a little disconcerting to hear them (the doctor and nurse) up there snipping and sewing and burning and watch the little instruments come back to the tray with my blood on them and not be able to feel a thing.

20 minutes and they were done. They could't bandage my head so I'm supposed to apply pressure today and also antibiotic ointment a couple of times a day. The problem is that I cannot see the places and since there aren't any more bumps, I don't know where the spots are! I can't distinguish, by feel, between my hair and the stitches. My head is still numb so maybe when it gets un numb. I already love that I reach up there and there are no lumps. Love love love it.

I got back on May 23 to get the stitches out.

Now it's time to get to work - I have a training class in an hour.

How great that you're done before 9 and ready to start a "normal" day! Glad it went well.

That's one of the odd things about a local anesthetic, to me it makes whatever they shot full of it feel like some odd bit of plastic. Once they have done that I could care less what they do, so long as they do it right. I am so glad I live in a time of enlightened chemical use.

I don't remember, did you ever say -- or did they -- what the bumps actually were? Why or how they were there in the first place?
