I talked from 10:30 nearly non-stop until 12:30. I am talked out. I did my training session which did not turn out as horrible as I thought it probably would. One person even sent me a thank you IM after which I thought was really nice.

Then financial advisor called after that and he was really in a chatty mood. By that time it was past lunchtime and I had not planned. So I just finished off the last of a package of those Bagel Thins which, frankly, leave a lot (like the rest of the bagel) to be desired.

I think I'm going to blow off Marci's class today. My head is better until I move it or touch it. I think it wants to stay pretty still until tomorrow. I may go out, instead, and track down some more Tylenol. But I will wear a hat.

In the olden days, we used to wash our hair once a week. I remember hearing (and believing) that if you washed your hair every day it would fall out. Seriously. And I am only 62 years old. I had a college professor who taught nearly a whole marketing class on the marketing of shampoo - and this was in the 60's. He said that the shampoo industry would change the wash your hair every day threat into a standard of care. He sure nailed that sucker.

My three places where there are stitches are covered with antibiotic ointment and I'd love to wash that out and wash my hair but they are also really sore so I think I'll wait until tomorrow.

It wasn't just the shampoo marketing. I think the availability of consumer-grade hand-held hair dryers made a difference also, enabling people to make washing and drying their hair a part of their morning routine.

I wash my hair every other day. If I wash it every day it gets very dry and brittle. If I leave it longer than two days it looks and feels unpleasant. I let nature and physics tell me how to do it.

If I happen to get my hair cut quite short, then I can do it every third day for a little while...

Thanks. I didn't mean to imply that you were secretive or it was a secret --only that I've heard it referred to by name and was wondering if it was the same place. (More details shortly on why/how.)

Makes me tired just thinking of talking for 4 hours. Yikes.

Also, my hair gets shampooed exactly as often as it gets cut, because my stylist is the only one who ever does it. I do condition nearly daily, but IMO shampoo is vastly overrated.

And by 4 hours, I of course mean 2 hours. Either way, makes my throat hurt thinking of that much talking.

Interesting. When I last had my hair done, the guy who did my hair sounded really happy when I told him I do not wash my hair every day.
