Jun. 2nd, 2011 12:18 pmOne of the issues that the team I work for has is scheduling. It may or may not be their fault but invariably the outage they say will happen at a certain time happens 24 to 36 hour later. So when they say there will be no work on xxx day then you can pretty much count on working until xxx +2. When they tell you that there is critical work that must be done at x hour on x day, you can pretty much count on their really meaning x+12 hour and x+2 day. It's really kind of frustrating not to mention difficult to plan for.
So now, I have no work that can be done now and no idea when the system will be available to do the work in my queue.

I finally did get the bears delivered and while I was gone, Amira and her daughter came to clean. The house sparkles and smells so nice.
While they were here, the eye doctor called to say my new glasses were ready! A week early!! So I went to get them. She pulled them out and I put them on and immediately everything got fuzzy. I couldn't read a thing. It took a while but finally I figured out that they had the lenses in the wrong holes. The lens for the right eye was in the left slot. They got me in to see the doctor who tried out a few things and confirmed. No one had any explanation which I thought was odd but they said they would get them fixed and call me. No biggie but kind of weird. Glad I picked a place that is easy to get to.

But it did involve some walking and I made what I think is an important discovery.
Fall #1 happened on May 14. It was a good one. Banged up my right leg but good. The knee was scrapped nicely. Just below the knee was swollen and numb and at rest, the pain - especially the first night - was deep and severe.
Fall #2 happened on May 21. I scraped the other knee but it wasn't a particularly bad fall. And it happened after a full day and a half of walking around with no pain and no issues.
Fall #3 happened on May 31. I am pretty sure now that my right leg caused this fall.
Today I put on my most stable shoes and I paid close attention to every step and I noticed right away that there was something going on. I felt a twinge - not a pain - but a signal that had I been going faster or not paying attention, my right leg would have just folded. I then started counting steps. That twinge came back sometimes every 6 steps and sometimes every 25 or 30 but I felt it consistently. By the time I got close to being back home it was happening less frequently but my leg was getting a little sore and tired.
All very interesting. I'm going to watch it and test it again tomorrow or this weekend and see what happens.

I did not sleep worth a damn last night which is very unusual for me. I went to sleep fine but woke up about 2 and never did really fall back asleep good after that. Nothing hurt, I just was awake. Weird. And not that much fun. I think next time that happens, I'm just going to get up and watch TV and knit or play on the computer. It seems a total waste of time to lie there and watch the clock.

U2 is all set up and ready in the football/soccer stadium. The concert is tomorrow night. The set up is quite a production in itself. The concert is going to be anticlimatic!
