I met the MOTSS group this morning for dim sum at a place I'd never been to. It's in a building in the International District that always has looked to me like it was about ready to close forever. All I know about it is that a woman was attacked and raped there a year or so ago. I didn't even know it had a restaurant. Turns out it does and it was a fairly nice place with pretty darn decent dim sum. But, more importantly, the company was excellent.

From there we went on to the pre-planned segway tour. I've often seen seqway tours in downtown but this was to be a tour of West Seattle. West Seattle is a nearby very large neighborhood that is a really nice place. It has a beach, it has beautiful greenways and interesting urban areas. It's only an ok place to see by car. It's a better place to see on foot but the hills are huge. The seqway is perfect. Plus I'd never been on one.

My recent adventures in falling have made me way less confident in my balance than I have ever been before in my life. And here I was getting onto a vehicle propelled only by said balance. Yeah, it was dicey and probably had I given it a thought I'd have known better but I didn't. I fell off a couple of times but never fell to the ground just stepped off. Mainly, it was a couple of hours of making sure I didn't fall off and kept up with the group. I would have loved to go more slowly and seen more of the sights but my legs couldn't have handled that so it was fine. And fun. And the weather was susandennis perfect. Cloudy and cool and perfect.

I banged up both wrists no real damage just those ugly blood blister looking spots that look like Kaposi’s sarcoma spots. They don't hurt but they look so gross. Now I have them all over my right hand and arm and my left arm and wrist. Dr. Cutie says the asprin a day makes them worse but the good that the asprin a day does is worth it. Ok. with a Whatever. At least I don't have any more social engagements. I hate having to wear long sleeves in the warm weather.

I left the group with lots of hugs and byes after the tour and came on home just as the Mariners scored the first run of the game that was more than half done. It would be so cool if they won this game. They are playing Philadelphia which has what the broadcasters are calling the best record in baseball. OMG they just did win! And the pitcher I have been saying not terribly nice things about went all 9 innings. I'm sorry I doubted you.

Nice nice nice way to top off a really nice week and weekend.

Sounds like so much fun! My friend Jason is a guide for Segway tours here in Minneapolis. They do a historic tour ... part of it crosses over the Mississippi and shows some of the historic mills, etc down along the water. It also goes past the The Guthrie Theatre. I hope to do it soon, though it's pricey.

HUGS!

I think Jason said it was $80 here for 2 hours.

Further research (i.e., I asked him) reveals that Alan was not at the Toronto .con.

I've often thought the Segway would be fun, but I've had balance concerns also. I may give it a try one of these days; I think there is a tour here in Denver.

Riding a Segway! Wow! I'm not sure if I'd be able to balance it. Here in Vienna you can see quite a lot of American tourists sightseeing on a Segway.
