Mom, Tivo and Chapter 2
Jul. 30th, 2003 03:51 pmShe is now "90%" sure it's the phone plug. She's making great progress sussing out the problem on her own. Thursday mornings is when her cleaning person comes. Sandy is way way nice and pretty big. So Mom says that she and Sandy and Teresa (the facilities secretary) will have the phone plug test tomorrow.
Plus Mom reports that she tighened up something on the back of the TiVo and already TiVo is better (able to get through more of the updating progress but apparently not all the way to the call).
The idea of Mom and Sandy and Teresa with their heads together over the wiring behind her entertainment shelves just cracks me up. We shall see! But, I am no longer stressing about it.
I need to focus my cycles on beating Detroit again tonight.

Date: 2003-07-30 04:14 pm (UTC)No DSL option where she lives. Ever. Between a 19th century phone company and the fire sale telephone system they installed to connect to it, there ain't nobody there who is going to live long enough to see DSL. On the up side her broadband cable connection doesn't suck.
I used the original TiVo 5 mile long telephone wire and just bundled it up behind the case. She discovered that today and correctly sussed that she could just take that wire to another jack to see if it's a jack problem or not. That's on tomorrow's team agenda...
Wi-fi hub on her DSL connection indeed...

Does your Mom have a webcam that we can view tomorrow? :)
