My neighbors, Ann and Ron, went to Italy this morning. They will be back in mid-July. I'm in charge of their incoming mail and dropping some mail for them on July 1 and watering one plant twice.
We have two levels of parking here under these condos. My space is on the bottom level. The space is huge but it means hauling everything up and down a flight of stairs. Ann and Ron have a space on the level above (street level). Their space has a lift so one car can be elevated up over another. They covered their car and put it up on the lift while they are gone and told me to feel free to use the space below. So today I did. It is very tight to get in and out of but quite handing if you are hauling crap.
And they get great magazines so getting their mail is fun. Their Netflix selections are snoozers, though.

Travis The Cat does not care for people food. He's not even that crazy about the wet cat food they get every night at 5. He's all about the crunchy food in the bowl. He looks like he eats everything in sight.
Betty The Cat is all hair. I can nearly get my forefinger to touch my thumb when I circle them around her. If you took off her hair, she would nearly disappear. She will eat anything. Every night after I finish my dinner, I put the plate on the kitchen floor for her. If she's not sitting by my feet when I get up from the table, she's somewhere with her finely tuned post-dinner radar on.
Tonight the phone rang as I finished dinner and I put my plate on the counter and forgot about it. I just looked up and saw her on the counter getting her licks. I have never ever seen her on the counter before. She caught my eye and looked so guilty. I tried to tell her it was ok but she slinked off...

My new ottoman/bed arrived last week and it's perfect, but the cover is a solid brown that 1) is boring and 2) attracts cat hair like moth to a flame. So I went to Etsy and found a perfect solution. It arrived today and I pulled it out of the box, admired it, put it on the ottoman and marveled at how perfect it was. I went to the kitchen to put the box in the trash and when I came back, Travis has claimed it.
He's actually been there most of the day which is great because it means he has not been walking across my keyboard so it's even better than I planned! (It *is* washable.)

I've had dried mango but never live mango. Tonight I had Chef Anita's mango chicken salad and OMG. She's always talking about flavor layers and I really get it with this salad. There's mango and chicken and greens and cashews and green onion tops but then there were a thousand other wonderful flavors in every bite. Soooo good.

The Mainers are playing the Nationals who do not have the greatest team so I think they feel sorry for them and are just letting them win. I'd rather they didn't but what.ev.
