A regular Thursday

susandennisOn Thursdays, I don't go to the gym in the mornings so I get up, get to work and only break when I hit lunch time. I try to remember to get up and move sometime between work start (about 6) and lunch (about 11:30) but I forgot today and by the time I got out of my chair to go get lunch, my body was in major WTF mode. I'm just so lazy.
When Chef Anita was here she said 'I have an extra chicken breast, do you want me to leave it?' I said 'sure!'
I found it for lunch - beautifully poached. Half of it made a great sandwich with some thinly sliced swiss cheese that Ann brought in her small stack of 'you want our perishables?' Some cheese, some half and half, some heavy cream, a banana and some basil. I think the basil would have lived until they got back from Italy but I was happy to have it all. It's fun to get free food. Especially good food.
The Mariners are playing their last (thankyoujeasus) game against the Nationals. It's an afternoon game there and morning game here - and it's 0-0 in the 9th.
Work is ok. Not too fiddly, not too frustrating. And nice with the baseball game to keep me company. I'll break away at 2 for Marci's class. I still can't get on my one knee but I can do the rest and my abs need to know they are not on permanent vacation.
My friends from New Zealand got out of the country and are enjoying San Francisco. Their home airport was closed for a couple of days thanks to Chile's volcano and they were worried about getting their trip screwed up. But, all is well, apparently, and they will be here on Wednesday. Scott's email from San Francisco reports that they were having a terrible time finding book stores in San Francisco and a shoe store that sells Florsheim shoes. Those whacky Kiwis.
Back to work for me.
