Back in the olden days, sticking a video into a Live Journal entry was a BFD and not that easy and most video places defaulted to play immediately. (Now they pretty much all embed in pause or stop mode so you don't get blasted when you don't want to.)

I'd crank up my LJ friends page and get 5 different videos play - all with audio! and... they would start over and over again every time I went to my friends page until those entries aged off. I set up a friend filter so I could move those folks off my friends page for a day or two until the video entries aged off.

I have not had to use that filter for a long time until today.... But, by cranky, still works like a charm!

I hate when unsolicited videos start themselves, making noise at me. Hate it. No embed code should ever force video embedded on another web site to autoplay. Fine to let me choose to embed it that way, but let me choose!

This is one of the reasons I always look at my LiveJournal after I post something; I can see that it looks right and isn't doing anything ridiculous, and this afternoon, I was able to quickly put KO's offensively auto-starting video behind a cut.

Oh, nice! Except, that I have my LJ set up to ignore cuts since I hate extra clicking... So KO blasts at me every time.

BUT, no worries. my solution works fine. I can keep track of your posts via my filter and in a few days ole' Keith will move on by and I can put you back on the main run... plus, I'm all over the subect matter.

Interesting! I figured you were talking about someone else, since I knew my video was safely hidden. You outsmarted it!

Really really not a problem - and it's because of my own settings so really not a problem. And I kind of enjoyed the nostalgia of pulling out my old solution!
